The Omokoroa Baptist Church was started in 2005 as a new church plant by the Katikati and Bethlehem Baptist Churches.
We meet on Sundays at 10.00am in the Settlers' Hall, 334 Omokoroa Road (opposite the Fire Station, just under 2km from State Highway 2), on the beautiful Omokoroa Peninsula, in New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty.
We also meet in various homes during the week for Bible study, prayer and mutual encouragement, as well as regular fellowship through shared meals and summer BBQ’s
We are a relatively small but committed group of believers, generally local to the area, living life to the glory of Jesus Christ, according to His Word, the Holy Bible.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, providing guidance and direction in all matters of faith and practice.
We believe in the ministry and baptism of the Holy Spirit, who empowers the believer to live a godly and fruitful life.
We believe in the importance of gathering together regularly for corporate prayer, worship and fellowship, and also in the importance of consistent personal communication with God.
We believe in and practise the holy ordinance of water baptism, which signifies the believer's death, burial, and resurrection into new life with Christ Jesus, and the regular celebration of Holy Communion as commanded by our Lord.
We believe that the lost and sinful man must be saved, and that mankind's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
We give regular financial support to the following local and overseas Missions:
